wilsonucla
Hello everyone, my name is Jayson, and this is my new fav web page!I will be going to NYC on April 19-22. Right now the price is really high, do you guys think it will get lower closer to that date?I have used HOTWIRE 4 times and love it. Do you guys like it better than priceline?Any other tips for me?Thanks!JaysonFrom Washington DC, moved there from Los Angeles last yr. Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! As to whether rates will go up or down, see the related "bid early or close to check-in" link in our PRICELINE FAQ.What is your maximum bid? Which zones are you willing to bid? What is your minimum star rating? Have you tried bidding any of this already and were rejected?Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy to follow. wilsonucla
My max is $200 for a 3* or 4* in any zone in Manhattan. I have tried these and have had no luck on both hotwire and priceline. At this point I dont know what to do. Any tips? Is April 19-22 a busy time for a reason? Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
If you're willing to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID i think you can get a GREAT deal in Jersey City (like <$100/nite) for the last 2 nites of your stay... is that an option? wilsonucla
I tried spliting it, and it worked out great! I used priceline for Jersey City, which is right off of a path train, and I got a great hotel the 3* Hyatt! The price was only $66! Thanks for the tip, its great to be so close to NYC and pay such a great price. Now I just need to try and find a hotel for 4/19Thanks again! and just wanted everyone to know that I used the SavingsBarn.com PRICELINE link. Link to comment

seningen
For historical purposes -- The Hyatt.com rates for FRI 4/20 & SAT 4/21 are $169 & 179 respectively. (Thurs 4/19 is $349).I'm leaning towards pulling the same splitting game the following weekend. However the rates there are 349/199/249 at the moment.mike Link to comment
