Hey everyone Thanks in advance for everyones help.

Im looking for a hotel on the strip for 08.31.2007 - 09.03.2007 (labor day weekend). I'm happy with a 4* hotel but ive been reading that the westin is included in the priceline strip vicinity and I dont want to stay on the westin. I'd be happy with Aladdin, Paris, TI, Harras, Flamingo, and the ones on the main strip. So since priceline strip locations include westin I am hesistent on doing a 4*.

Can you guys give me any tips on these days?

5* would be great too. Should I even try 4* If I dont want to risk getting the Westin?

Also if i wait closer to my dates to start bidding would be better? Or should I try to secure the hotel now?

Thanks again.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

If you don't want to stay at the Westin then i would recommend you not bid on Priceline.

As Harrahs and Flamingo are not considered to be 4* properties, are these hotels you're willing to stay at?

With rates at the Venetian $349/nite for your dates the chances of you being successful at $150 or less are essentially nil (but you're welcome to try if you'd like).

You can't really bid for a 4* on priceline since you're trying to avoid the Westin and that is a distinct possibility when bidding on priceline. I also wouldn't advise bidding for a 3* as you then increase the possibilities of ending up in the north part of the strip (ie- Circus Circus, Stratosphere, Riviera, etc area).

That leaves HOTWIRE, where there is a 3* Center Strip for $99 which seems to match your needs well. Many Vegas hotel amenities descriptions are very similar, but the one i'm showing currently matches the Imperial Palace, so that would be our best guess for that property (but of course we can't see the name either, so no guarantees). However, rates are just $104/nite on their own website so that would be a better deal than the HOTWIRE offering.

If the above doesn't work for you, both Ballys, Flamingo, and the Excalibur are available for $145-$155/nite. If you want a step up in quality Treasure Island is available for $189/nite.

Let us know your thoughts on the above and/or whatever you decide to do. Any questions or if we can be of further help feel free to ask.

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it. I'm thinking the flamingo then since everything else is too expensive and they do have a awesome pool. So if i wait to book later will the prices go up? or will they stay about the same. when do you recommend booking?

ok so i booked paris for 650 including tax. and i found that hotelbook.com has it for 618 including tax. i submitted a best rate garuntee with harrahs.

Have you ever heard of hotelbook.com? if this works its going to be a pretty big discount.
