Off to NAB, just for the first few days. Saturday 4/14 seems to be VERY hard to get, Sunday much less so.

I bid up to $100 for a 4* in Downtown(Fremont)/Strip/Convention areas, shot down;

Bid up to $80 for a 3* in Downtown/Strip/Convention areas, shot down.

Looking for the upper end of "basic lodging"... I'll be car-less, so I need to be close to the strip. I'll only be there the two nights, and changing hotels would really be a pain, but worth it if I could save $100+.

Suggestions? Thoughts?

Many hotels in Las Vegas don't allow Saturday check-in... any chance you could change your plans to 4/15-4/17 (which would also encompass more days of the show)

If not i think you're going to have to adjust your expectations or budget... as the prices above are not likely for a busy timeframe which includes a Saturday check-in for a hotel on the strip (or the Golden Nugget downtown).

It is unlikely I could slide it later a day -- I'm swamped at work, and one day off is about as much time off as I think I can allow.

Hotwire has a Condo in near-strip south for $129.

There are also a couple of 1*'s in Strip South and Near Strip East for around $100. Although I swore I'd never stay in an EconoLodge again. ;-)

I may bid PL 4* up to $130/night (probably unsuccessfully), then bid 3* to about that level, then start with 2.5*'s, then choose the best remaining HOTWIRE option.

Sometimes someone will step forward from here with something on one of the hotel websites that I hadn't seen yet... but I figured it was a longshot on a busy Saturday night.

Thanks for looking! I'm open to anything else you might have.

Finally found success at Alexis Park, Convention Center/UNLV area, 3* for $100/night. Previous unsuccessful bid at $90.

Looks like the hotel website lists $150/night. Not thrilled with the whole situation, but looks like I did okay in the end.
