Still learning about all this and would appreciate some help.I'm looking for a hotel in downtown Calgary during Stampede, which is peak period. Check in Fri Jul 13, check out Mon Jul16. 3 adults.Hotwire has a 4* (I think its the Westin) at $109 for 2-person room. They only list 3* for 3 people which is further from downtown and more expensive, so I figure we can sneak one person in. although looking at their website I think it only has a murphy bed, which to me indicates very small room.Priceline listed this hotel at $344. Cheapest 4* is $275. Average listed at $162.I don't care about quality, just need a place to crash for a few hours, but 4* at $100 or less would be amazing! Definitely better than staying at a hostel which we were considering given prices I was seeing.Given that this will be my first attempt at bidding, any suggestions to get the best deal? How low should I start? Any point in splitting the days?thanks!!

If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Downtown...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $80, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* Downtown and re-bid zone4...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $100.If the above is rejected you may just want to take the HOTWIRE offering (please use this previous link if you do go for it)Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. abfab Posted March 30, 2007 Author Report Posted March 30, 2007 thank you for the info, the instructions you gave were great. Unfortunately, I don't think I followed them properly.It let me rebid 4 times. Then I closed/reopened browser and got message: "We were not able to process this request since our records indicate you have already made a request for this same trip."Did I screw up by not closing the browser after the third rebid? I assume I'm now locked out for 24 hrs? Can I retry using the name of my travel companion but same credit card?
