We will be taking a cruise(RC) Sept. 1 out of Vancouver. Will need a hotel room for 2 nights. August 30,31,2007. I have bid up to $110 for a 4 star but no luck. Afraid to bid on a 3 star after reading some reviews on 3 stars. Have not booked a backup yet but will soon. Any advice. Thanks in advance

At the 4* level you have four re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* Downtown...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone2...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone3...

Bid $110, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 4* Downtown and re-bid zone4...

Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone2...

Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone3...

Bid $130.

This will take you to your stated maximum bid. If rejected post back and we'll address some viable alternatives.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

No luck. Went from $90 to $130. Am I better off booking something like the Sandman, Best Western, Riviera or Blue Horizon. I think I can get one of them for $120 to $140. Or bid on a three star and hope for the best

thanks

You can book any of those, and hopefully at a fully cancellable rate, then you can continue to try to better the deal in the months ahead.

If you're the type that likes to book and forget about it, what appears to be the Coast Plaza is available thru HOTWIRE for ~$139/nite (going for nearly $200/nite thru their own website)... at least this would be a 'deal' if you like the idea of staying at this property and the location works out well for you.

Personally i would book a cancellable reservation and continue to try the opaque suppliers... rates are a little high, but not so much that i do think you'll eventually get your bid accepted (assuming rates remain the same... but they might not, they can go up, which is why you should book a back-up which can be cancelled)

If you go with the HOTWIRE offer above please use our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase; if you choose to book a back-up please consult our support page to see if we have a link to the hotel you choose.

Let us know whatever you decide or if we can be of further help.
