peter55 Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 Hi, I'm trying to find something nice or nice-ish on the Strip for Wednesday 4/25, 4 nights leaving Sunday 4/29. I am willing to pay up to $260 or so a night for a Bellagio/Wynn/Venetian-quality place, although I am also comfortable at everything down to, say, the Aladdin, NY/NY, etc. I like Ceasar's, too. There are so many options and it seems like all the other deals people have posted expire before then. I am a bit scared of some of the 4* places on PL (from the hotel list here), because they aren't all what I really consider 4*I also looked at the Aladdin book-it-now link linked on other pages, and it looks like that now charges you for one night if you cancel, even well in advance. So, I may book that for a backup (looks like it is around $185/night) right now, but don't want to risk eating the one night if I get something good on PL/HW. Any good strategies? Thanks!
thereuare Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you're refering to this Aladdin link you still have 48 hours before your check-in date to cancel without penalty... it's poorly worded, as it would be clearer as "cancellations or changes made <within> 48 hours prior to check in time...", and we've suggested before they change the wording, but it's not a priority for them.If you're willing to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID, the Bellagio is avaialble for the first nite of your stay for $199/nite (and then you can move to the Aladdin across the street?) Please use the links in this post if you go this route.Any thoughts on the above? Did you still want to try for a 5* thru Priceline? (although ohter than that first nite, rates do look very high for your dates) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
peter55 Posted April 11, 2007 Author Report Posted April 11, 2007 Ended up booking directly (though the BB links) the first night at either the Bellagio or the Venetian, and the second night at the other one, both at (I think) around $190/night. Not terrible, not great, and I may still try Priceline to see if I can get the Venetian for cheaper. I have the Aladdin booked for Friday and Saturday as a back-up.I've also tried Priceline 5* requests for Friday and Saturday at $175, $195, $210, $220, $225 and $235 and all were unsuccessful. Several offers at around $300/night. I think that $235 is about as high as I am willing to go. May look at Hotwire, too.
