Priceline Hotel: Help Washington DC 5/28-6/1

I will be driving to washington and staying 5/28-6/1. I have never been and am going for site seeing. I will be traveling with my husband and 3 year old. I am not familiar with the area, but would like to stay in a location that has easy acess to metro or walking distance to alot of sites. I would appreciate any suggestions. We are not too picky about hotels. 4* would be nice but 3* will be fine too if its a good location.

Here is what I have tried so far. I went with the suggestion from one of the other posts. I had no luck with this. I am fine with another location if I can get it for a better price. As long as it is close to most stuff.

Select 4* White House...

Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $65, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 4* Whilte House and re-bid zone2

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $75, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 4* Whilte House and re-bid zone3

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $85, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 4* Whilte House and re-bid zone4

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $95, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 4* Whilte House and re-bid zone2 and re-bid zone3

I went with the suggestion from one of the other posts. I had no luck with this.

Rates are date specific, so we really don't recommend following a strategy in another thread for dates which are different than your own. It can lead to wasted bids, or worse, an overbid.

I am fine with another location if I can get it for a better price.

Which other locations are acceptable to you?

What is your maximum bid for a 4 star property?

I just want to be close to most of the sites. In order of my preference WhiteHouse/Downtown, Capitol Hill Convention Center, Dupont Circle. I am willing to pay up to $125 for a 4 star. If thats not possible I would like to try for a 3 star.

Is the least expensive 4* in any of the above zones you're preference... or did you want to bid up to your limit for the White House/Downtown zone, then try for the Capitil Hill zone, etc.?

I am thinking of now trying hotwire. I saw a 3 star (White House Capitol Hill) with restaurant, pool, fitness center and laundry for $119. I am thinking it is the Holiday Inn on the Hill. Should I post this in the hotwire forum?

You can keep all posts for this stay in this thread... if you ultimately use HOTWIRE we'll then move this entire thread to that section of the board.

The above is a match for the Holiday Inn so that would be our best guess.
