ukbidder Posted March 19, 2007 Author Report Posted March 19, 2007 I have my eyes on the beekman tower at $209 per night as a backup, (although I haven't booked it yet) - I guess my max bid is $209. Best rate on Hotwire is $225 for 4*, and the best rates I have seen elsewhere are way way above that, so I might just take the beekman if priceline fails me.
thereuare Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 I'd recommend making the Beekman Tower reservation rather than "watching it" while you continue to try priceline. Thru EasyClickTravel the reservation is refundable up until a few days before your stay and they only get a limited number of rooms at their pre-contracted price.To confirm things i just took a quick look at your dates, and sure enough, it is no longer available for your complete stay (notice the Studio Suite is listed as "on request" and not as "available"... it's the last two nites of your stay that are no longer available)... although the 1BR suite at $230 is still available. thereuare Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 How about this...Booking the first nite at the Beekman Tower inflates the rate for the entire stay (i hate when hotels do that) so you could book as follows:Book the 1BR suite at Beekman Tower for 4/22-4/27 for $189/niteBook the 1BR suite at Beekman Tower for 4/21 for $230/nite (alternately you could book the Studio suite for $206/nite, but this would involve you having to change rooms after the first nite of your stay)Does that work for you?
