NLProductions Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 I just found this forum yesterday and used it as a bidding guide for my impromptu trip from LA to San Fran. This is my first post. After reading the boards, I bid yesterday on 4* USE for Sunday 3/18/07 and got rejected (you can't blame a girl for trying)! Today, I decided to try a Saturday night in the city, my thinking is that prices would be lower in a business area on the weekend. Since I had 48 hours, I decided to lowball again. I read in the forum that no one had seen a 4* for under $80 but what the heck..I bid $75 for my Saturday night stay and it was accepted at The Omni. I was thrilled, this was the hotel I was really hoping to get since it's so highly rated on TripAdvisor. I chose the "extend your stay option" for an additional night. I was going to look for a Sunday night in Sausalito at the Inn above the Tide but the lowest rate is $285. Thanks to the information on this board I went ahead and booked both nights at the Omni for under $200! I'll just drive to Sausalito :).I read some tips on city parking because I hear it can be up to $45 so that's something to think about....Now.. off to bid on an SFO hotel for Monday night since I have an early flight back Tuesday morning!! Thank you to everyone who posted. I appreciate the guidance.

ck128 Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Check out my post for SFO bidding earlier, most of the hotels offer free shuttle to airport so you can return car early and reduce stress in the morning.Just a tip. In my opinion Homewood studio seems to be a very good place to stay. Will post my review afterwards.
