Priceline Hotel: 3-4* DC - Need advice for Apr 6-8 Cherry Blossom Festival

First of all, I think it will be quite busy during that time

but I would like to hear advices and suggestions

Plan to fly there from Toronto to DCA Apr 6 (Good Friday)

fly back to Toronto on Apr 8 Sunday.

Surprisingly, Air Canada still has free tickets redeemable by Aeroplan

I guess Capital Hill area is best for the Cherry Blossom Festival?

Is Capitol Hill the only area you're willing to bid? What is your maximum bid? Are you looking for the lest expensive 3* or better hotel OR are you willing to pay more for a 4*?

1. From the look of it, cherry trees are primarily around the Tidal Basin lake area, and I won't be driving but taking METRO, so I thought that Capitol Hill's the best area to be

Obviously if there's good deals not too far from it, and we can commute in/out, I'm open to that

2. Price is the key, and I'm hoping to find < $100 USD/night, 4* is great, but I'm open to 3*

The problem is that nobody knows the hotel you will get until after your purchase.

Here are some ideas to get started...

HOTWIRE has a 4* in the White House zone for $119/nite, just over your budget, which appears to be the Hotel Monaco and that would be our best guess. There is a 4* in the Dupont Zone for just $89/nite... best guess there is the Hilton Towers. (your offers may be different than what we are offered, so always list the amenities for the board to confirm what you're seeing and/or match them with the Hotwire Hotel List.

What are your thoughts on either of the above? (please use our HOTWIRE link if you choose to go with either).

If you'd like to try priceline, please let us know (a bit more concretely) if you'd like to try for a 4* or a 3* and we'll suggest a strategy accordingly.
