Hi - I know people post tons of these 1st timer posts, but hopefully someone can direct me the right way...

I am new to priceline & hotwire and desperately trying to get a very nice hotel in Manhattan for 2 days next week to celebrate my wifes birthday but having little success finding a price break... Any bidding tips... especially for 4 star hotels or nicer 3 star hotels...

Many thanks in advance

Hi!

I am very new to hotel bidding and this site. Looking to stay in in NYC for my wife's birthday next week for two nights - March 13 & 14. Is 4* or high end 3* hotel possible in $150 a night range?

Would appreciate any and all help!

Thanks!

Please keep all your posts for the same stay in the same thread... no need to cross-post between the Priceline and Hotwire sections of the board.

Which zone(s) of your NYC are you willing to stay in?

Sorry about that...

I guess preferably Midtown - East or West. BUt quality is key. Would also consider downtown. Preferably not uptown.

Well i don't think you're in the right price range for a 4* hotel for these dates, and if you're going to lower your star level and go the Priceline route, you can't choose which 3* property you'll yet, so you would need to be comfortable with any 3* property in the zone you bid (which it doesn't sound as if you are).

Do you have any back-up reservation?
