BurBunny Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Doesn't Hotwire have a double the difference guarantee? If you got this property in the last 48 hours you might want to take advantage of it in this case. Would get you $80 back - that wouldn't be too bad. Also, do you happen to remember (or can you recreate by going back to the dates and starting but not completing the request) the amenities icons for this hotel? Is it the one with the Boutique, Restuarant, Fitness Center and Business Center? That will help others identify it in the future :)
ubinyc Posted February 24, 2003 Author Report Posted February 24, 2003 I reran the query; I am fairly sure it was the Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Business Center, as you say. I do remember that it was the only such hotel in Midtown central with 4.5 stars, as well.Shame on me, but I didnt bother checking into the price for a few days (the reservation is a gift) and when I did notice the discrepancy, it was too late. Ah well - this was my first time on a hotwire/priceline type site. Now I know :)
BurBunny Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Thanks for confirming the amenities! This will definitely help others. You're giving someone a very nice gift. While this was a learning experience for you, I definitely hope you have gotten information and will understand better next time your purchase. BetterBidding.com is here for that reason. Information is power. More information = BetterBidding! :)
thereuare Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 I would probably ask for the double the difference guarantee anyway. All it takes is 5 minutes for a properly worded email (put in content about how it makes no sense that buying blindly should never cost more than thru conventional methods, you thought you'd be saving money, your disappointed, etc, etc) and they may just ignore their 48 hour policy just as good business practice. ubinyc Posted February 25, 2003 Author Report Posted February 25, 2003 I tried the email and got a canned message saying they couldn't help. Not complaining, just reporting :)
thereuare Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Was worth the shot... thanks for updating! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
