marla6 Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 I stayed one night, Wed 5/13/10. I only needed it for one night before an early morning flight so I wasn't shooting for greatness. Overall, good value (I won it at $29/night bid), decent stay if all you need is a bed breakfast and some A/C, lots of room, but wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for comfort or luxury. Pros:locationprice/valueHUGE rooms (suites)good servicebreakfastfree wifi quietfree newspaperCons:not high-end or luxuryfurnishings very datedbed was insufferably hardminor 'glitches' in roomComments:location: hotel is within 2 minutes of MCO and there are LOTS of restaurants maybe in a 3 mile radius, convenience stores & drug stores around too if you need 'em. I didn't hear any noise from the airport. I believe they have an airport shuttle, though I didn't make use of it. Lots of gas stations too (if you're returning a rental car) without the usual airport gas prices. Watch out for the Suncoast Express gas station (off Semoran north of Hazeltine) ...they didn't have their gas prices posted anywhere except for at the actual pump and they had their regular for literally TWICE as much as the stations only a few seconds up the road. lobby/common areas: lobby was clean and open, quiet, good place for breakfast the next morningrooms: it's a HUGE suite with a couch, chair, kitchennette, breakfast table, king bed, safe, closet, L-desk & task chair, TV, phone, hairdryer. The lighting was a bit of an issue even with all the lamps provided (too dim). The vanity light would only come on sometimes so I had to make do with the closet & nightstand lights. The lighting in the bathroom was TERRIBLE (mistake trying to shave my legs in there!) and the fan was incredibly noisy. The room appeared and smelled clean, though it was clearly very dated. The bed was impossible to sleep on; hard as sleeping on a bare floor. I'm too tall to sleep on the couch but I seriously considered it. TV worked just fine, good sound...which was nice for watching late at night because of the horrible bed.bathroom: was pretty big (accessible, again) but very dim lighting. Also, there were no shelves or even a soap ledge in the shower (the vanity counter & sink were separate from the shower/toilet) so I had no place to put my products & soap and I was NOT about to my soap on the floor! Good water pressure though, and plenty of hot water.amenities: The only 'amenity' I used was the free breakfast. It was a buffet-type with eggs, sausage, bagels, muffins, cereal, coffee, fruit, etc. It was yummy and I can't be mad at free.
