adnelg Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 I just booked a 4* Montreal downtown for $66 US on each of March 16 and 19. It's the Omni Mont-Royal. I started at $46 and then added areas outside of downtown sequentially, increasing my bid by $5 each time. I was on my last chance when they accepted the $66. Including taxes and fees, it worked out to just about $100 CDN, which was well within my budget.
simon0t7 Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Hi, I'm new here and I was looking at this hotel earlierdo you know what kind of room they gave you? When I was looking at the Omni, they had a parlour room w/ a sofa be for 100 bucks. good deal but not exactly a room. I'm starting to lear more about Priceline and 66 bucks for a real room w/ an actual bed sounds like a steal!
thereuare Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 simon0t7,Welcome to BetterBidding! If you would like help with your stay please start a NEW TOPIC and include the actual date(s) of your trip.Keep in mind that with Priceline and HOTWIRE you're not bidding on a specific hotel, and there are other 4* properties in Montreal that you could receive. If you're new to the opaque suppliers, i'd start here: I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
adnelg Posted March 11, 2007 Author Report Posted March 11, 2007 Hey there ... I don't know what kind of bed, I guess I'll find out when I get there ... but I emailed the hotel and made requests for a king bed which they said shouldn't be a problem. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed!P.S. Don't the parlour rooms have a parlour with sofa bed PLUS a bedroom? That was my impression from their website. And remember, the $66 is USD + fees ... after conversion to CDN it was just about $100. But I am very happy with $100 for a downtown Montreal hotel on a Friday night.
simon0t7 Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 thereuare, thank you for the welcome. I look forward to may stay here :)adnelg:as far as I know, that's typically teh case with parlor rooms. But on montreal.com, omni lets you book just the parlour room at a discounted rate. Since you put a request in for the kingsize bed, and they said you shoudl have no problems getting it, sounds like you won't be getting the parlous. My concerns resolved.I'm going to do some more reading and plan my holiday:)enjoy your holiday in montreal!
