andrewfm Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 Hi guys, I'm a newbie to Priceline / Hotwire and looking to find a 4* hotel for 2 rooms with 2 people in each for 3/25 for 1 night in downtown Chicago (i.e. North Michigan / Loop area). See a couple of options on Hotwire but not having much luck on Priceline ... can anyone offer any assistance. Willing to pay up to $100 per room.Thanks,Andrew.
andrewfm Posted March 4, 2007 Author Report Posted March 4, 2007 Hi,So far i've bid up to roughly $80 (converting from STG on their UK site) ... didn't want to go too high before seeking advice! Thanks,Andrew.
AaronJB Posted March 4, 2007 Report Posted March 4, 2007 When looking up 2 rooms w/2 per room on HOTWIRE for 3/25, I see a 4* in the Mag Mile/Streeterville area with the amenities: fitness/business/hi-speed internet and restaurant for $99. That would likely be the Hard Rock. I'm a little surprised that the Millennium Knickerbocker didn't come up if you bid $80 for a 4* in the River North/NMA area.Overall, I think you're not far off. I'd bid $85 next for a 4* in either the River North/NMA area or the Millennium Park/Loop/Grant Park area if you have already bid $80 for a 4* in both of those areas and have been denied.
andrewfm Posted March 4, 2007 Author Report Posted March 4, 2007 Hey,Thanks for your help. Got the Knickerbocker when I bid $88 on Priceline. What's the hotel like - I'd have taken the Hard Rock but figured I'd stick with Pricline until I got up to the same level. My ideal would have been the Conrad but don't know what the success rates have been with that. Thanks again,Andrew.
