jammyor Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 I would really appreciate any suggestions or help! We're going Memorial weekend, yes I know to expect to pay dearly for this decision. Here is what I have so far:5/25 - Harrah's $109 = taxes for total of $118.82 through Harrah's.com...This is great, I'm happy with this part. 5/26 - I had a reservation for Fitzgerald's through Tripres.com for a total of $81.50 with taxes. The next day, I get an email from them stating I needed to contact them immediately. I called and they stated that they were unable to confirm my reservation, as Fitzgerald's will not take a Saturday arrival due to the holiday weekend. (Arrgghhh!!! Why does Tripres show this property as available?)5/27 - Aladdin for a grand total of $142.25 as an "off the record" property through EasyClickTravel, again very happy with this part as well. So, of course the issue is Saturday, 5/26. I have been killing myself day and night searching every avenue I can think of to find something. I've even been searching 25-27 as well...to make it a Friday arrival with 2 nights as to not be limited in the no Saturday arrival issues. I'd prefer to stay on the strip....I don't want Stratosphere, too isolated. I wouldn't be thrilled with Excalibur, Sahara or The Riviera. However, as indicated by my initial booking for Fitzgerald's, I wouldn't mind staying downtown for one night if all else fails. Through Hotwire, I get a 4* center strip for $174....Do you think it's safe to assume this will be Aladdin??? I'm hoping it wouldn't be The Westin because there are rates of $155 all over the place for that date. Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any advice or help you can provide.
thereuare Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding! What is the full list of amenities associated with the HOTWIRE property you're being offered?Would you stay Downtown for the first two nites if the hotel was nicer than the Fitz? You can book the Golden Nugget for $120/nite.... but same issue applies with requiring a non-Saturday check-in. jammyor Posted March 3, 2007 Author Report Posted March 3, 2007 I ended up risking it on the Hotwire deal and it was Aladdin, Whew! We want to spend most of our time on the strip, so 2 nights downtown wasn't something I would have chosen. I'm sure we'll still get downtown to play a little at some point anyway. Thanks for your reply.
thereuare Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 Could you still add the amenities shown before your purchase (still viewable by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page) so that the info can help others. :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
