I'm going to be in London from April 6 to April 17, 2007. Part of my trip is for business and part is for vacation. I decided to split up my bid because a friend is joining me after the business part of my trip is over, and I figured it wouldn't be so bad if I had to change hotels after my work was done.

I started booking the second half my stay first from April 12 to 17, 2007, because I wanted to secure that part of my stay first, so this is how I bid

4* Kensington $85

add Westminster $90

add Mayfair/Soho $95

add Notting Hill $100

Got Copthorne Tara for $100 for 5 nights

subtotal $500.00 + $101.68

Total $601.68

This is an amazing price for me. I have been traveling for years and I learned about betterbidding.com from consumer reports. I had never known how to book travel through Priceline. I usually used Expedia or something like that. I wish I had all the money that I spend in overpriced hotels over the years. I could buy a nice luxury car with it.

I have stayed at the Copthorne Tara Kensington before and I was actually hoping to get this hotel, so I was happy when I did. It's in a great location tucked away just off the main boulevard. I stayed there last December and I loved the area because it was so much less crowded than some of the more central areas. I'd been in London in December before Christmas a few times before and last December I was completely dreading going to London in December again because it gets so jammed packed with people in the streets shopping. I even had my wallet picked pocketed out of my purse a couple of years ago and didn't even know when it happened.

The staff there is very friendly and my room was comfortable. The bed was small - a double and I'm used of sleeping in a king size, but it was comfortable. I loved that it had a refrigerator instead of a mini bar. The tube was very close by so I could get to any where I needed easily.

I loved Kensington street. Lots of nice little shops to look in. And the police were friendly and helpful. I was walking down the street and I was getting hungry, so I stopped a couple of cops and said "I'm hungry, where should I eat dinner?" and they pointed me to a lovely little Mediterranean restaurant, that was delicious and inexpensive and just a block off of Kensington.

I'm glad I got this hotel again, because, , even though I like trying new things, sometimes I just like knowing what to expect.

have a good day,

Majorca

Congratulations on your win!

Glad to see you got the hotel you were hoping for and saved a bundle.

It's always nice to hear when new users are introduced to the 'opauqe providers'... just like you, most are amazed at the savings and wonder why they didn't try it long ago.

Thanks for the post and have a great trip!

Oh, I also forgot to put that I visited the hotel's website and their rate during my stay was a total of 746 GBP which equals $1463.00 and since I paid $601.68 for my stay, that was a savings of $861.32.
