dreamgirl
Hi everyone,This is my first post, but I've found this board to be extremely helpful.I'm planning to travel to Atlanta the weekend of 3/30 to 4/1. I've recently learned that this is the same weekend as the Final 4, which is 3/31 and 4/2. My goal was to get a 4* hotel, preferably in Buckhead for that weekend.Do you think its possible, given that there will be so many folks coming in for Final 4? Do you think most rooms, especially in Buckhead are full? Should I bid higher for that particular weekend?I'm willing to do 4* in another area, but I really don't want to go below that (ie 3* or 2.5*).Thanks everyone for your ideas and suggestions. thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates are capacity controlled, so with a high demand event in the city, this will almost certainly effect rates (the only question is how far outside of the zone of the event location will the demand spread). What is your maximum bid for this stay? Which other zone(s) are you willing to accept? dreamgirl
My max bid is $100.Other zones that I'm willing to stay in are: Downtown, Midtown, Airport, and Perimeter. Link to comment
thereuare
Last question... are all zones equally acceptable (ie- any of the above zones are fine and you'd like the least expensive available hotel out of the zones above)? dreamgirl
Yup....I only chose the zones that are acceptable. Link to comment
thereuare
I was clarifying that you're willing to stay in one of the zones above before paying more for a hotel in the Buckhead zone. There are no 4* hotels offered in Midtown, so that zone shouldn't be a factor in your bidding. You have 14 re-bid zones when bidding 4* in the Atlanta area. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Buckhead, Downtown, Airport, and Perimeter...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. dreamgirl
Update:I used the strategy above and bid up to $100 using my re-bids with no success.I then added Perimeter (another 4* star that was acceptable for me) and went back down to $60 and worked my way up.Bid was accepted at $90, and I got Westin Perimeter. Thanks for all the help.
