GIRLEGIRL7101 Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 On a sat night in march my family is traveling to san jose area. I wouldnt mind a 4* yet i see that the 2.5* might be country nn. So what to do?? The free breakfest sound nice! What are the chances of getting the country inn?I will be using www.savingbarn.com when i book, thanks!
thereuare Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 What is the actual date of your stay?As you say this booking is for "your family"... are you booking more than one room or looking for more than double occupancy? What is your expected budget? GIRLEGIRL7101 Posted February 27, 2007 Author Report Posted February 27, 2007 we its my husband, my self, 3yr old, 2 yr old and a 6 month old so we need 2 beds. March 10th is the date, for one night.under 50 would be nice.we normal get sharton for 75 with aaa so i figure 50 is a good amount.
thereuare Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 so we need 2 beds... but priceline doesn't guarantee this. All that is guaranteed is a room that accomodates double occupancy (and technically you'll be five). Is the risk of receiving a room with only one bed worth it to you? GIRLEGIRL7101 Posted February 27, 2007 Author Report Posted February 27, 2007 its worth the risk cause our kids our young and can sleep with us. we are just there to sleep.
thereuare Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Which zone(s) within San Jose are you willing to accept? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
GIRLEGIRL7101 Posted February 27, 2007 Author Report Posted February 27, 2007 really anywhere cause we are going to santa cruz for a babyshower so it really doesnt matter. San jose seems to be alot cheaper then santa cruz so we normal stay in san jose.
GIRLEGIRL7101 Posted February 27, 2007 Author Report Posted February 27, 2007 Sunnyvale - Santa Clara , Cupertino - Campbell ,Milpitas, and san jose. If i could get santa cruz for 50 or 60 i would but i dont think that i can.
thereuare Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Personally i would stick with trying for a 4* hotel due to your occupancy issues... i think you'd have a better chance at them being more accomodating (although it can be a toss-up) but my bigger fear is that you'd land a 2.5* hotel doesn't have any rooms with 2 beds (or worse, quad occupancy (not to mention quintuple) exceeds the number of guests allowed in their standard rooms). But it's up to you and the type of hotels you're accustomed to stay in... let us know and we'll advise with a strategy. thereuare Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 There are no 4* hotels offered in Milpitas so that not available for your bidding if you're going to bid at a 4* minimum. You say that you'll take Santa Cruz if you could get something up to $60, but previously you stated you only wanted to bid up to $50... is your limit $50 for the other zones but $60 for Santa Cruz?? GIRLEGIRL7101 Posted February 28, 2007 Author Report Posted February 28, 2007 Yes, you have it right! 60 for santa cruz and 50 for san jose.
thereuare Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 Let's start with this...At the 4* level you have three re-bid zones...Select 4* Sunnyvale and San Jose...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $43, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $45, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* Sunnyvale and Cupertino...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $43, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $45, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* Sunnyvale and San Jose and Cupertino...Bid $47, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $48, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $49, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. WzDancer Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 As a also most permanent San Jose Priceline hotel resident, I wish I had chance to partake in this discussion. Looks like You've got one of the best deal in the Silicon Valley. All 2.5* and 3* hotels here, with the exception of Larkspurs Landing, offer choice of King or Two-queen room, even at Priceline price. The choice is not available at 2* or lower where extended stay hotels abound.Being a resort area, hotels in Santa Cruz and Monterey make money in weekends and offer good deals during weekdays. On the contrary, hotels in Silicon Valley make money during week days and give rooms away in weekdends.
one Posted March 4, 2007 Report Posted March 4, 2007 To ensure you get your double bedded room, call days ahead to confirm your reservation and the room type (double / single). They wouldn't guarantee it, but usually you get what you ask for.
