Priceline Hotel: 4* DC - Please Help!

I tried Priceline today (through savingsbarn.com) and failed too may times to count to get a hotel room! Any way that anyone could help or provide suggestions on what to do now?

I tried the three areas below, up to $195.00 and was unsuccessful.

Washington DC - White House, Convention Center or Dupont Circle acceptable.

Dates: March 5th - March 8th

Star Rating: Prefer 4*

Budget: under 200.00

Amenities: Any, Restaurants onsite nice since I'm traveling by myself...

Well you've basically gone up to your limit and it hasn't been enough, your choices come down to:

-wait it out (but i'll point out that rates are very high for this stay)

-lower your star rating

-expand your zones to the suburbs of DC

-SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID (i see possible availability within your budget for the last nite of your stay, but the first two nites will still be difficult)

Do you have a back-up hotel reservation? (if so, where and how much)

Thanks! This confirms what I was thinking... unfortunately, this trip came up last minute and so I was hoping for a deal on Priceline because I don't have a back-up reservation at this time!

In your experience, does waiting help at all... getting close to last minute or no?

When rates are very high the best options are often Quickbook and EasyClickTravel (<-- their "available" and not "on request" properties) but nothing within your price range available there as far as i could tell.
