ithaca Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 Hi,I'm looking for a 4* in Chicago for one night (4/11) and hotwire is listing a 4* hotel in North Michigan Avenue-Water Tower-Gold Coast for $149 "Best Deal." The hotel details are fitness, restaurant, business center, and high speed internet access. I noticed on other posts that the Drake, Omni, and Ambasador all meet this description. There seems to be a big gap in quality between the Ambassador and the Drake or Omni hotels. Does anyone know if the price of $149 makes it more likely to be the Drake or Omni? I looked through old posts and it seems that the lower the price, the more likely the Ambassador will show up. I'm staying at the Palmer House at a conference rate of $119 from 4/12/- 4-15, but they were unable to extend the rate. I would love to stay at the Drake, but the Ambassador makes the 4* selection a leap of faith. Any help or advice would be more than welcome. This is a great site!!!!!!!!!!
thereuare Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 You can use the following link to book the Palmer House Hilton for $125/nite.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AaronJB Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 The HOTWIRE deal in question could be the Ambassador East (which was formerly an Omni), the Westin Michigan Ave. or Drake, but it's likely the Ambassador East. The Ambassador isn't a terrible hotel. All three hotels would be a ways from the Palmer, however. I'd go with the Palmer link above for $125.
ithaca Posted February 24, 2007 Author Report Posted February 24, 2007 Thank you for the help. I think I'll try priceline in the loop for $70-$100 and then will use the Palmer House link. Cheers!
