rmadisonwi Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 It's getting close to my travel date, and I'm looking for something in downtown LA. I tried using some of the prices I saw on other messages on this board (went as high as $85) and didn't get anything. While I have an idea of the general tricks to "play" with Priceline, I'm just curious if booking this close to my trip is raising the price, or if I'm traveling in a particularly busy period, or what.Any ideas on what I could expect to pay for something in that area?
thereuare Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding! What are rates (direct from the hotel website) of some of the 4* hotels in the Priceline Hotel List for these dates? rmadisonwi Posted February 18, 2007 Author Report Posted February 18, 2007 The Hilton is $399. The Westin Bonaventure appears to be booked (says "no rooms available"), so that could say something about the level of demand for those particular days. The Wilshire Grand's website keeps giving me an error message when I try to check something. The Marriott (3*) is $329.
thereuare Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 So based upon conventional rates... what is your maximum bid?$85 doesn't seem reasonable with rates well over $300/nite.
