lewyIA Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 We (7 friends and myself) are taking a trip to New York City in September. We would like to stay in 2 rooms. 4 to a room. Can I safely bid on Priceline with 4 in a room? I was told on another board to go ahead and bid and once your bid has been accepted to call the hotel and tell them you need 2 double beds. Anyone have experience with this? We are going September 23 - 26. Is this off season?Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)
thereuare Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Welcome to BetterBidding! Here are just a few thread on this topic:Four in a RoomQuad OccupancyBed SizeNYC is one place i would not take the chance with this as some rooms (even at the higher class levels) can't accomodate more than one bed. It may work out alright, but then again, it may not. It's a risk that only you can decide if you want to take. If you decide to take this chance, then by all means call the hotel after winning put in your request for 2 beds, but as one of the above threads mentions, it will only be a request.I'd think twice about this just from the standpoint of NYC's notorious small rooms. Some are just comfortable enough for 2 people... certainly 4 would be tight! One of the only things smaller than a NYC hotel room is a NYC hotel room bathrooms, and think of the logistics of 4 people trying to get ready before heading out for the evening. That's my .02Let us know what you decide to do and if you'd like us to suggest a recommended bidding strategy.
