premieresba Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 This board has been so helpful during my trips over the past few years, I thought I would seek out assistance again. I go to Toronto every summer to visit my son and I will again be going 7/30 - 8/1. I would like a three or four star hotel and have been fortunate to stay in the Marriott Bloor, which was terrific and the Sheraton which was ok. Since I have some time I thought I would begin the process now.I would like to have either a 3 or 4 star in Downtown with a beginning bidding rate of $45 and maximium of $70.Based on the above and the fact that I have time, do you have a strategy you can recommend? Thanks in advance.Robin
thereuare Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 Did you want the least expensive 3* or better hotel for your dates OR did you want to try for a 4* up to your maximum and then try for a 3* up to your maximum? (ie- are you willing to pay more for a 4* hotel vs. a 3* hotel) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
premieresba Posted February 10, 2007 Author Report Posted February 10, 2007 I guess the least expensive 3 star or better.
thereuare Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 You have two re-bid zones at the 3* level. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* Downtown...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $45, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* Downtown and re-bid zone2...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $55.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. premieresba Posted February 10, 2007 Author Report Posted February 10, 2007 Was rejected on all of the above. How about a strategy for a 4* with the top bid being $75. Or would it be prudent to wait a bit since it is so early. Thanks
thereuare Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 You have eight re-bid zones available when bidding 4* in Toronto. You can bid again immediately as follows:Select 4* Downtown and re-bid zone1 (<-- make sure this re-bid zone is a different one than re-bid zone1 and re-bid zone2 that you used above)...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $63, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone4...Bid $68, if rejected add re-bid zone5...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone6...Bid $73, if rejected add re-bid zone7...Bid $75.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
