tlcdr Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 My first venture into Priceline bidding. I prefer to spend @ 85.00 for a room near the cruise port and Bayside market. The check in date is April 15, 2007 and check out the next day.First bid: Downtown $29.00 rejected (I just had to try a lowball figure)2nd bid: Dadeland $64.00 rejected3rd bid: North Miami $66.00 rejected4th bid: Miami Lakes $74.00 rejected5th bid South Beach $81.00 rejected6th bid Southwest Miami $85.00 rejected At the last bid with taxes, the price was up to almost $105.00. All suggestions appreciated (I'd prefer to keep the 4* rating. How high do I have to go? Perhaps I should wait another few weeks and re-bid? :)
thereuare Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates for your dates are not that high (the Hyatt is only $159/nite). I would probably raise my bid by another $5 just to try to be done with it... if that failed i would then continue trying once or twice a week.HOTWIRE has a 4* offered for $119/nite so you're probably not too far off with your current bids. Of course the risk of waiting is that rates go up instead of down.If you'd like a more detailed strategy let us know and we'll type one up for you.Keep us updated as to your progress or let us know if we can be of futher help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
bilyclub Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 I am in the same boat, or ship if you prefer. What would be the best way to play this out. Always can use the Holiday Inn as a backup. Same date, same game..
