zbenye Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Here's an instance where Expedia beat HW and probably PL as well.4 nights @ $59.25Tax $9.67/nightTotal $275.68Priceline rejected bids up to $56, which would have totaled $265.87. At that point I decided to take the Expedia offer rather than risk getting the Cathedral Hill hotel or the Holiday Inn.Hotwire ($59) totaled $279.43.The hotel's own website: $276 before taxes.
thereuare Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 Knowledge is power :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
tenerifesharon Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 Yeah -- unfortunately, after I got my Opal bid accepted for $56 per night Sept. 29 - Oct. 3, Travelocity had it on special a few days later (for our dates) for $57 per night, BUT with the guarantee of a double/double or king bed occupancy. Priceline win is for a regular double and we'll probably have to pay to upgrade to a room big enough for 2 people with luggage!! You win some, you lose some! :)
zbenye Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 Sharon, once 24 hours have passed, never again check rates for dates you've already booked. Prevents heartache...I've always gotten a room with a king bed. I think you can expect the same. And if they will have a two-bed room available, I don't think they will refuse a polite request when you check in.
