hannahb352
I planned to stay at Treasure Island for 5/27-5/30 for part of Memorial Day weekend and TI's website had rooms for $122 a night. I just checked my nights on hotwire.com and they had Treasure Island..or what I believed to be TI for $144 a night which is $22 a night more than I found on their (Treasure Islands) website..so I went for it and took the room on Hotwire and it was TI..I now have a claim in for double my difference which should put this my room around $100 :) a night, which is a great price for this weekend (Memorial Day) for a Thur, Fri, and Sat. night and exactly where I want to be. So just a note to anyone else out there thinking of the strip over that weekend..TI's rates online are lower than any other 4* and right now Hotwire is overpriced making an even better deal. I guessed it was TI and NOT New York New York due to the customer favorite icon, but otherwise amenities are exactly the same so BE CAREFUL (this could always be another hotel and is a bit of a gamble :) ), plus I checked packages over that weekend and only found TI packages not NYNY packages. Wish me luck this is my first Double the Difference Try!!! thereuare
Nicely done!!Please follow-up with us when you get the confirmation of your "Double the Difference" Guarantee. Also be aware that the Double the Difference guarantee, as of this writing, is only allowed once per household per 6 week period. So if you happen to see the Venetian come up within the next 6 weeks, as i know you're keeping an eye out for it, have a family/friend that is in a different household book it for you (but use your name as the person checking-in). If you find something after 6 weeks check their website to make sure that they haven't change the timeframe to a longer period.Good Luck with the wedding plans! hannahb352
Well I see it says 3 business days for my reply on my double the difference refund so today would be 3 days but since it's a Sat. I guess I'll have to wait until Mon. How long does this normally take? I think I'm just nervous as this is my first try at this :) I'll let the board know on Monday if I get a reply, as a side note my mom just booked 2 room for May 27-30, 2004 at $148.00 a night on Hotwire also and summited a Double the Difference Refund using the same $122.00 rate at Treasureisland.com that is still available. thereuare
Call Customer Service... it's actually easy to get a live person on the phone (unlike Priceline) and they're somewhat helpful. hannahb352
Finally! I didn't ever get an e-mail telling me my DD Refund was accepted but I just checked my credit card balance since I made a big payment and wanted to see if it had gone through today and I saw the credit from Hotwire on my online statement for my credit card! Would have liked the e-mail that I saw other's received but the $ was most important anyway :) Link to comment
