cellulo Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Hello from Paris, I'll be visiting in February Florida with my wife and two kids and i am looking for a nice 3 star hotel with direct access to the beach. What are the latest good offer and your recommandations. Thanks for your help.
thereuare Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding!Few things to cover:-are you seeking one room or two? Priceline only guarantees double occupancy... HOTWIRE allows you to search for up to quad occupancy-priceline doesn't guarantee being on the beach... HOTWIRE will show you a Beachfront or Beach Access icon if that property qualifies as such-priceline is often a bit cheaper, but given the above requirements, HOTWIRE may be a better option for your stay (but it's up to you which way you'd like to go)What is the minimum star rating you want? Which zone(s) are you willing to accept? What are the date(s) of your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
cellulo Posted January 31, 2007 Author Report Posted January 31, 2007 Thank you very much for these helpful informations. We are looking for a 3 star hotel. We'll arrived on the 18th of February and are willing to stay 4 nights at the same place. As i am not familiar to Fort Lauderdale surroundings, i don't know where i can extend without being disappointed...
thereuare Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 First things first... are you willing to take the risk of Priceline (most notably the double vs. quad occupancy issue, as well as Beach Access) or do you prefer to go with HOTWIRE (which will give you the ability to know if the hotel is Beachfront, Beach Access, or neither)? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
cellulo Posted January 31, 2007 Author Report Posted January 31, 2007 Following your advice, i'd better look at Hotwire
thereuare Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 If you do a HOTWIRE search for the Ft Lauderale Beach area... does anything with a Beachfront or Beach Access show up within your budget and desired star rating? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
cellulo Posted February 3, 2007 Author Report Posted February 3, 2007 As post following a winning bid, i have what be considered as the Miami Resort and Spa for 209 $ 2/18 to 2/23. Why such a difference with a 119 $ wining bid
runNgun Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 supply and demand causes prices to go up (and sometimes down). It's peak season in South Fla and most coastal areas of Florida also.
thereuare Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 Your dates are also longer than the Hotwire Miami Beach post you are refering too... and you're searching for quad occupancy; both of these aspects, in addition to supply/demand factors, can easily affect pricing. cellulo Posted February 4, 2007 Author Report Posted February 4, 2007 Just reserved for 179 $ the Miami Resort and Spa for 2 adults/2 kids. For one night less (i wanted to stay till the 23), the price went down from 209 to 179 $. Not as good as the 119 $ for 2/18 to 2/21 post before but seems to be a good offer as Expedia shows a 292 euros. Thanks all for your help.
