I found a 4* hotel in Midtown East for $143. Check in 2/17/07-2/20/07. From the description: Fitness Ctr., Business Ctr., Restaurant, High-speed internet and Tennis nearby, I'm guessing that it is the Intercontinental The Barclay. I know the Hyatt has the same description however the tripadvisor rating is 4 out of 5 which matches the Intercontinental. From my research it seems like it would be the Barclay but the price seems low. Any advice is much appreciated.

Could still potentially be either, but I have seen the same listing (in terms of zone and amenity) come up with 3.5* and 4*/5 tripadvisor ratings, so that *may* be the difference between the two.

Long story short, while evidence may suggest the Barclay, you still have to be aware that it could be the Hyatt or something else.

angeldiva72,

Welcome to BetterBidding.

Thanks for the report and for using our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase. I'm sure this information will help the OP. Have a great stay!

Cameron35,

Nobody can know for certain until you complete your purchase but the previous purchase by angeldiva would indicate that you're seeing the Inter-Continental. The ratings are not a good source of identifying properties as they're not updated dynamically... so a hotel may be rated (user rated) 3.5* last week and thru some positive reviews is rated 4*... this change will not be reflected in the HOTWIRE refernce to the rating. I will add... i'd be comfortable with either property.

Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

Hey! Intercontinental The Barclay confirmed through Priceline for $127 per night. Here is what I did:

Checked Hotwire- 2/17-2/20 4* in MTE for $149 this morning. Since the price had gone up since yesterday I decided to try my bid with Priceline that was not accepted. I originally entered 4* in MTE for $110, this was on Friday. Bid was not accepted. Today I went back to do a free re-bid, chose MTE again, added UES which does not have 4 * hotels so I knew I would not end up in that area. Changed my bid amount from $110 to $127 successfully! Thanks for all of your feedback and research. :)
