Looking for the best value on the strip during 2/27-3/3.

Staying for 4 nights flying in on the 27th(tuesday) and flying out the 3rd(Saturday).

Looking for 3* or above located centrally on the strip.

Best deal we have found so far is Ballys is $69 a night on the 28th and 1st but are upwards of double that on the 27th(139) and 2nd(219). We realize Friday will prolly be a little more expensive and would be willing to switch hotels for a much lower rate but having two cheap nights, bookended by two expensive nights seems just stupid.

Luxor is 250 total for the first three nights which seems like a pretty good deal for a 4* but we are worried about the location being a pain.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

The most important parts of the hotel would be in this order: centralized location, nice pools, and a decent casino.

Thanks

Given your preferences for this stay i think the Monte Carlo fits the bill very well... it's centrally located, has a great pool (with lazy river), and can be booked thru the previous link for $110/nite.

The first three nites average out to $90/nite and you can then try to find alternate accomodations for the last nite (which is $169)... but given rates seen elsewhere for the last nite i think this is a very good deal, not just for the first three nites, but for the complete stay as well.

Reviews are either "love it or hate it", so for the same price you can also consider the higher rated Aladdin for $110/nite. The first three nites there also average out to $90/nite and you can also decide to stay here for the length of your stay or look elsewhere for the last nite.

Do either of the above work for your needs?

Those both look nice especially the aladdin. The only thing we are worried about is the construction at both places. Reading the reviews on trip advisor people seemed the construction seemed to bother people more at the Monte Carlo. I know the aladdin they are under construction because it is being turned into a Planet Hollywood and I guess the Monte Carlo is just under renovation. The pool at the Monte Carlo is also closed for renovation until February 2007, which would be a real bummer if it didn't open in time or something.

Our group is going to be 4 guys in our early 20s too so we don't really want to end up at a family resort. Not sure what category either of those fall into.

I think for now though we will keep looking for a bit.

***EDIT***

Just found MGM Grand for 105 avg/night for the first 3 nights. Listed as a 2006 travelers choice for best Pool. This looks to be solid. Found this on Expedia
