CaptainJ47 Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Hello, this is my first post. I wanted to let you know that I have tried to bid on a 5* through priceline from 3/01/07 to 03/05/07 in the city centre. My first bid was $75 a night. That was rejected and I was offered $137 a night. I did decline that. I have waited a few days and then I rebid the same days and same area for $100 a night. That also got turned down. I may in fact keep raising my bid. I did see that there is a 4* for $119 a night on Hotwire. I just need a good location because this will be for someone's bachelor party. Just wanted to update the board.Jason
SCARP Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Last summer I bid for a room - it was not accepted - and I was offered a "suggested bid" The suggested bid was a bit higher than I wanted to spend. Was one of those times - I didn't really care that day if I got it or not.Long story short: I replied with another bid (lower than the suggested bid) and it was accepted !!!I believe the price I paid was $70 and the suggested bid may have been as high as $90Don't feel like you need to walk away if they offer you another chance with a suggested bid.I was not bidding on anything in Europe.Good luck
CaptainJ47 Posted February 3, 2007 Author Report Posted February 3, 2007 Good afternoon again,I recently changed and bid two more times and wanted to update the board. From 3/1-3/5 I bid for $82 for a 4* and was declined without a counter. This bid was for the city centre. I then was able to rebid, via a link from an old email, on the same day for the same zone but this time for $88 a night for a 4* in city centre. It too was declined. I will keep the board updated when my hotel finally gets booked.
