virgievirgie Posted January 27, 2007 Report Posted January 27, 2007 Hello,I tried to bid for 4 rooms for my wedding in August (8/4-8/5). I am not sure if it's too early to do so, but I was unable to get it and i've been bidding up to $70. I've seen most get a cheaper price than that. Is it too early or am I bidding for too many rooms? (I plan to get a few more if I am successful).I am trying for 3* in Santa Rosa or Rohnert Park - max to be $100 incl taxes - hoping to get Doubletree. Thanks!
thereuare Posted January 27, 2007 Report Posted January 27, 2007 The Hyatt and the Hilton are currently sold-out for the date above, and the Doubletree is over $250/nite... not prices that we typically see accepted bids at the $100 and under mark.Do you have a back-up plan? virgievirgie Posted January 28, 2007 Author Report Posted January 28, 2007 I looked up last night that they are having a drag racing up in sonoma that weekend.. grrr... no wonder everything is sold out and super expensive!! I made reservations at Holiday Day Inn Express Santa Rosa last night just in case. They are not cheap. $150 for Holiday Day Inn Express!!! So I am hoping from now till August, I could continue priceline or hotwire for a few hotel rooms, just in case they release some then I can cancel my reservations.I haven't tried pricelining 2-2.5* yet.. So we'll see. I am worried I will get a hotel that I don't want. Any suggestions? Thanks!
thereuare Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 We're an affilate of the Holiday Inn Express (and most other major hotel chains, which are listed in our support page) and using our links helps keep this site a free resource for everyone.Given the rates above (and as you discovered the cause, the drag race) this will probably be a tough call unless you can get something 'last minute'... not that you have anything else on your plate right now :)Is your wedding happening at a hotel or a catering hall that may have a contact for a group rate at a nearby property? virgievirgie Posted January 29, 2007 Author Report Posted January 29, 2007 Oh, I didn't know about the link.. I probably will change the reservations or make other reservations.. so I'll use the link in the near future. The wedding is going to be at a golf club across from Doubletree, that's why I want to get some rooms there. Just too expensive.I am actually looking into vacation rental and found one in Santa Rosa that can sleep 10-12 for around $1000 (mainly for the bridal party). Then I'll release my Holiday Inn Express rooms, and maybe use them for out of town guests. Thanks so much for your replies to my post. :) You seem like a much nicer administrator than the other board that I went to.
