Priceline Hotel: New York Hotel

I want to go to New York June 26 to July 1 2004. I want to stay in the Times square area. Do you think I can get a 2 or 3 star hotel for 100.00 or less?

When should I start bidding?

I haven't looked at rates for your dates yet, but unless there is a convention in town or colleges still going thru graduation (not likely) this should be very do-able.

However, "Time Square" is not a Priceilne zone. Midtown East (MTE) and Midtown West (MTW) are bid on most often. MTE has a hotel or two that is a 15-20 minute walk to Time Square, so i don't know if that's satisfactory for you or not. Upper Midtown/Central Park South is also a very nice location, and probably more than your budget, but if you're willing to stay in that area we could at least use that zone to maximize your the amount of bids you can have within each 72 hour period.

Please go to a Priceline screen and enter "new york, ny" for location. On the next screen you will the sub-zones within New York. Report back here if MTS, MTE, and MTW are all acceptable or if there is a zone that you aren't willing to stay in. When using Priceline, you agree to get a hotel anywhere within the shaded region of the zones you select. We'll then supply a recommended bidding strategy for your to follow.

Also, if for example you could get a 4* for $100 or a 3* for $75, which would you prefer to try for? Prices that we talk about here are bidding prices and do not include taxes or Priceline's fee, so if you weren't including that in your $100 figure let us know what you're maximum bid price is.
