kkim Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 First bid of $51 for 3* -- rejected2nd bid of $51 for 2.5* --accepted8751 Suiteside Drive Orlando, Florida 32836 407-238-07773/18/07-3/21/07 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $306.00 Taxes & Service Fees:$50.96 Total Charges*: $356.96 I would like people's opinion on the following:I still need to book 2 more nights 3/13/07-3/15/07 and currently looking at some 2.5* hotels on hotwire for $39.I know the quality of the above hotel I just bid on, and is listed at $120 a night on priceline. So the question is:Do you think I should try and book the same hotel I just bid on for those 2 nights, knowing what I could get, and the price difference being only $12 night x 2 room x 2 days = $48 difference. Or should I try and go for the unknown 2.5* hotel on Hotwire. Thanks,Ken
thereuare Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 I don't follow the math...If Priceline is listing this property at $120 for the balance of your stay... where does the $12 difference come from? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
kkim Posted January 26, 2007 Author Report Posted January 26, 2007 The $120 is what you would pay priceline, if you did not do the name your price option. Thus with the bidding option, I could get this same priceline Hotel for $51 dollars on priceline(name your price). There is another 2.5* Hotel I am looking at on hotwire which is listing for $39(which I can't identify yet). Thus this is where the $12 difference comes from, comparing a hotel on priceline vs hotwire.Hope this clarifies things.ThanksKen

This will keep things continuous for this leg of your stay and also enable us to reflect the hotel ultimately won (whether you use priceline or HOTWIRE) in the topic title of the thread.
