avniassa Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 Hi there,We're kinda new to Better Bidding and read all the threads on how to start but we were wondering if anyone has a recommendation for something around the $60/night preferably on the central strip or something in walking distance? We read a few posts for good results with Aladdin but do you think it can be done on Valentine's weekend? We don't mind walking if the other areas are in walking distance but we'd rather get a good hotel for the cheapest price.ThanksJulia and Dave
avniassa Posted January 25, 2007 Author Report Posted January 25, 2007 By the way, we tried priceline with 3,4,5 stars on the strip for $60 and got this msg:"Thank You for Naming Your Own Price
thereuare Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 Please don't double post in the Priceline and Hotwire forums... keep all posts for this stay in this thread and if the other service is ultimately used we'll move the entire thread so that section of the board.I don't think $60 is a reaonable expectation for a 3* or better on the strip for weekend dates.Have you seen anything remotely close to this price?Your above experience means exactly what they're saying:Unfortunately, we can't accept your offerNobody would accept your offer.we did find special priceline rates available for your travel dates at the hotels shown belowAs you were unsuccesful with "name your own price" they're trying to cross-sell you by sending you to the non-opaque version of their site (which is just like any other typical online travel agency). Based upon my comments above, I imagine that the rates for the hotels they were offering were much more than your budget? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
avniassa Posted October 1, 2008 Author Report Posted October 1, 2008 I ended up getting a package deal via Travelocity since I had no successful bidding on PRICELINE.Thanks for the help!
