Hello Everyone,

I'm a long time lurker on this site and a first time poster. Thanks for all the guidance and money saving tips that I've used over the past couple of years.

My wife and I are going to celebrate our 10th in LV 4/25-4/28. We prefer to stay on the strip at a 4* or higher hotel. Here is what I have booked as my "backup" plan....Aladdin for $110, $110, $220. I can live with the first 2 nights but feel the 3rd at $220 is kind of high. I'm not opposed to making a switch to a different location for the final night if it would be a significant upgrade.

Would it be worth taking a shot at priceline and try to get my price per night down from $146 a night for a 4*? The other thing I considered was trying for the final night at the Venetian for close to the $220 they want at the Aladdin. The best I've seen for that night at the Venetian is $329.

Thanks for any suggestions

For the nite of the 27th you could book the MGM Grand for $190/nite but not sure if it's worthwhile to change hotels to save $30 for just one nite. The Excalibur is available for $151, it's step down in quality but the money savings seem like they would be worth the move if your budget is a factor.

All of the above, including the Aladdin are cancellable up until a few days before your arrival, so would certainly book whatever you feel is your best bet at this point... rates could go up eliminating that opporunity... if they go down then you can always call up for an adjustment to the lower rate.

A non-refundable option is HOTWIRE which has a 4* property in the "near strip west" zone for $160/nite (believed to most likely be the Rio)... but it is off-strip and don't know if that's something you'd want to consider.

Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

I think you're exactly right. The more I look I think I'll just stay put for the third night for now. I think getting the first 2 nights at $110 also make it unlikely a 4* on the strip can be had for the 3 days via priceline any cheaper. Its not worth the chance ending up locked in somewhere thats not as nice. I'll book now and keep an eye on the rates and hope for slow bookings!

Thanks for the advice!

For anyone looking for a possible good deal on rooms through the end of april I found a decent unpublished promo good a most of the Harrah's properties you might want to check. I was able to get Bally's for April 25-28 for $69/$69/$139 which was rediculously cheaper than anything I've seen for a deluxe upper floor room. Could have had Caesars deluxe palace tower for $180, Flamingo for as low as $60. There were good rates for Rio and Paris as well but were sold out on my nights for the promo. I was shocked by the rates I got as I hadn't seen much below $180 a night at Bally's during that period. Caesars was tempting at $180 as they were listing out at $340 many other places for the equivalent room.
