ChicagoTraveller Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 I am trying to get a room near the airport or downtown for 2/22. I fly in late that evening and leave for a cruise the next day, so I am not too concerned about how nice the hotel is.I have tried several times during the last few weeks. I started as low as $50 and have gone up to $72. I have been able to get quite a few bids in each time because I figured that I was fairly safe using South Beach etc because they are not likely to have anything in that price range.I checked on Hotwire and they have a 2.5* for $95 and a 3* for $99, but I am hoping to pay much less. Do you think that I should wait a few weeks and try again, or keep going up? Thanks for your help!
thereuare Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding!Book the Holiday Inn Airport North for $82. As there is no booking fee, this is equal to about a $78 bid (just $4 more than you've already bid) but this property has an airport shuttle and a shuttle to the Miami port! So when looking at total cost (assuming you would otherwise take a taxi and don't end up doing that) this would be cheaper... and it's cancellable up unitl 3 days before your check-in date. Please use the link above if you do book this.Does this work for your plans? ChicagoTraveller Posted January 24, 2007 Author Report Posted January 24, 2007 That sounds great! I will definitely use the link. It is so nice to be able to ask for help at a friendly site!
thereuare Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 Glad we could help.I believe the official name of the above hotel is "Holiday Inn Airport" (dropping the 'north' although some sites still include this in the name). After the purchase is made just call the hotel to confirm that they still offer the shuttle to the pier... but i just read on their website earlier that they do.Enjoy your stay and subsequent cruise!
