Seattle
I was booking rooms for 5 employees coming into town for a company meeting from Feb 7th - 10th. There is a MSFT convention in town at the same time so I knew I was competing for rooms. I'd called around before and inventory in the 3* class that we usually put our employees into was very tight and was going for a real premium. Quoted rates at traditional 3*'s were:Crown Plaza - $249/night - was actually sold out on the 8th but had just enough rooms on the 7th and 9thRennaissance - $249/night - only had corner suites available and then only had 10 totalRed Lion - $229/night - almost completely sold outWith these employees having to be here on these dates I didn't want to screw around so I booked 4 rooms at once (the maximum that Priceline will allow) and tried $125 and got it on the first try. Needless to say, I was a bit surprised. After that, I went back and picked one more room for the 5th employee and started off at $115. I was figuring I might have to rebid but no, on the first try I was selected at $115.So, despite the fact that there is a convention in town and the 3* selection seems to be pretty much gone there seems to be room in the 4* category right now and I'm guessing you could get it for less than $115 night.Oh, used savingsbarn.com link for part of the transaction.
