mlaurence Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 I tried to duplicate some previously reported successes with 4* hotels, but was unable to get anything in MTS, MTW, Financial, or UMT-CPS for bids up to $148. I also attempted the 2.5 star Financial District $85 bid that had succeeded before. No luck. Then I looked for 3* locations, and settled on UMT-CPS because it had a decent location and a narrow range of fairly well-reviewed hotels. This brought success on my first bid at $120. The Park Central total for 2 days including fees is $290.09. It's $39/night lower than the lowest promotional rate for those dates on their website.
thereuare Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 Thank you for sharing your winning bid with the board. As you can see, somebody elses win, whose dates are different than your own, can have little correlation to your own stay. For this reason, we don't recommend following strategies that are given to somebody else when those dates are different than your own... it can easily lead to wasted bids, or worse, and overbid.Glad to see you got this settled, saved some money, and are happy with the results. Feel free to ask for help before bidding for your next hotel stay.Enjoy your trip. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
