JennM Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 Hi,I am seriously considerig bidding on a 3 1/2 * hotel in Miami Beach being offered at $139 a night for the nights 2/18 thru 2/21 on Hotwire. This is President's weekend and sounds like a great deal. The problem is there are a couple of hotels I don't want such as Marco Polo and/or Casablanca etc. In reading through on this site, it looks as though this might be the Miami Beach resort and spa. I would be happy with that hotel. I'm torn between bidding for a 4* on Priceline and risk not having 2 beds or going for the sure thing Miami Beachfront at $139. I am new to this site and was wondering how accurate you felt it was that this hotel is the Miami Beach resort and spa?Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!Jenn
thereuare Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 There is more than one 3.5* hotel in the Miami Beach area.... please go to HOTWIRE and then post here the amenities that are associated with this property which is what we'll use to help identify it. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
JennM Posted January 19, 2007 Author Report Posted January 19, 2007 Sorry about that. The hotel is listed as a customer favorite. The amenities are as follows:ResortBeachfrontFittness CenterRestaurantHigh Speed InternetSpa ServicesPoolBusiness CenterGolf NearbyChildren's Activities ProgramSounds like that could describe a lot of the beachfront resorts. They just vary so much in reviews that I'm a little hesitant. Any ideas? Thanks so much,Jenn

JennM Posted January 23, 2007 Author Report Posted January 23, 2007 Thank you, Thereuare, for your response. This hotel has now dropped in price to $119. I'm not sure I could get that price on Priceline for a resort hotel and I'm getting serious about bidding. I just had another question.I did a search on this board and can't find any info on the Miami Resort and Spa. Not in the forums or hotel reviews etc. While I know you can't guarantee a resort, I was just wondering what makes you think this is the Miami Resort and Spa over all the other resort hotels in the area? Honestly, some of them get terrible reviews and I'm afraid of getting one of those. More specifically the Deauville, which comes up on Priceline.I'm new to this board and aren't sure how you determine hotels. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place? Thanks again, for any additonal info.Jenn
thereuare Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 If you look beyond the first post in the Hotwire Hotel List, you'll see additional listings not yet confirmed, and this property is listed there... here is a direct link to the post which includes the Miami Beach Resort and Spa.Please remember to use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. JennM Posted January 24, 2007 Author Report Posted January 24, 2007 I wanted to thank you for your help and confirm that this hotel is indeed the Miami Beach Resort and Spa. I used the link you provided to make the purchase. Although the reviews are mixed, I'm thinking that $119 a night is a steal for a hotel on Miami Beach Presidents Day weekend. Although I considered Priceline, I decided against it as I didn't want to run the risk of not getting two beds. Thanks a lot for all the info, I appreciate it.Jenn
