I am going to the US Open on September. I would like to book two rooms with 4 people on each one.

Could you help me find a good start? I would pay up to $200 and I would like to stay in Midtown Manhattan.

How far in advance should I book? I know is a the labor day week, so is going to be busy.

Have you cleared this with the others making the trip with you... make sure they know that there is a possibility that two people in each room may be sleeping on the floor each nite. You don't want to make this decision on your own with friends... and as stated above, it is really not recommended bidding for more than double occupancy in NYC.

I was just looking into the possibility of SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID, staying part of your stay in NJ (cheaper) and then taking the money saved to apply to a more expensive room in NYC for the other part of your stay.

While doing so i noticed something that i don't think was there earlier...

On HOTWIRE there is a 3.5* hotel in the Midtown Central available for only $123/nite (Hudson Hotel??)... you can book four rooms at this price, going with double occupancy, and only be about $12/pp per nite over your orignal budget... if you can stretch your budget this would be preferable to staying in Secaucus, but if budget wins out then we'll look at the NJ options for you.

If you do book the above please use this HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase. If you'd rather go with a stay in NJ let us know and we'll look at that option.

Let us know your thoughts.

If you're willing to go to NJ, you might also want to look on Long Island. For a similar price you could probably get the Garden City hotel (listed in Floral Park for some reason.) It would probably be the same price as any hotel in NJ, its closer, you don't have to pay toll $ to get there and you won't get creamed in traffic going to and from the tennis center.

Also, it's a really nice hotel. Also, the hotels near Laguardia are basically across the road from the Tennis Center. If you can get a room there, you may be able to get shuttles back and forth. Or, if you're in good shape, you could walk there in 45 minutes.

We are planning to go to the US Open 2 nights and during the day we would like to visit New York, you know all the toursit places. I would like to know if would be difficult or if would take a long way to go from Long Island to Midtown Manhattan?

My husband does not want to really stay @ La Guardia. I do not know why.

Thanks

Lupitenis
