javaj Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 Does anyone know what hotels these could be (for 5/28/04-5/30/04):2.5* Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral $92Beachfront, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, Tennis Nearby, Laundry Facilities2* Satellite Beach $103Resort, Beachfront, Restaurant, Pool, Tennis NearbyThanks!
javaj Posted February 25, 2004 Author Report Posted February 25, 2004 I still don't know what these hotels are but I thought it was interesting that the rates have gone down for these same hotels during the same timeframe. The 2.5* is now 75 (from 92) and the 2* is now 83 (from 103).We currently have backup reservations at the Courtyard in Cocoa for 105, but if we can find out if these hotels are any good, then we might switch. If anyone has any ideas, they'd be appreciated!
thereuare Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 I must have missed or forgot to get back to this post, so i'm glad you 'bumped' it.I don't think you're going to get much better than a 'guess' on these. Unfortunately most of the hotels could fall into the 3* category and almost everything is 'oceanfront' (or as they like to call it, 'oceanside' which i'm guessing is the same thing). What i've found that could be possible is the Radisson, Days Inn, Best Western, Holiday Inn, and Hilton, and a less likely guess the Courtyard since they also offer breakfast and that's not listed.Since your stay is for an extended period, you may want to consider taking a chance on the first/last nite and book that nite... then if you're not satisfied you'll only be there for one day. If you like the hotel and it's a good price for the property, then book the remaining nites. This has been done a few times recently with good results (but of course, you have to be willing to 'suck it up' for one nite if you're not happy with the hotel). Also, before trying this strategy, make sure the same hotel is shown for the one nite and then again for your remaining nites. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
javaj Posted January 1, 2005 Author Report Posted January 1, 2005 Just a follow up: Did not use hotwire for this trip, used Marriott rewards to stay at the Courtyard in Cocoa Beach
hellokitty1 Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 The 2.5* hotel matches the icon's for the Holiday Inn Oceanfront. We got a rate of $75 a night on the website. $92 is way too high if this is the right place.
