I was interested in a 3* hotel and was willing to stay in Downtown Phoenix, Metro Center, or Scottsdale areas.

I began bidding at $39 for Downtown Phoenix.

I went to $44 and added Apache Junction/Gold Canyon, which had only up to 2*.

I went to $47 and added Metro Center.

I went to $51 and added Scottsdale.

I went to $54 and added Buckeye (only had up to 1*).

I went to $59 and added Fountain Hills (only had up to 2.5*).

I went to $64 and added Phoenix North (only had up to 2*).

I went to $69 and added Phoenix West (only had up to 2*).

This amount was accepted, and I received the Park Plaza Phoenix North, which I believe is in the Metro Center area as defined by Priceline. Two nights at $69 per came to $138, plus taxes and service fees of $25.89 brought my total to $163.89.

The lowest rate advertised on Travelocity started at $122.07 per night.

I used the Priceline Hotel link from Savings Barn.
