susiestepper
Looking for a 4* in Dupont Circle for Jan. 21-24 (Sun-Tue), I bid $100 yesterday, then $115 today with no luck. At the same time, I also bid $85, then $95 for a 3* there, and was again rejected. I can't afford the time to keep trying unsuccessfully. Can anyone advise me how much I probably need to increase my bid for either 3 or 4* there? And which hotels are likely to come up in those catagories? Other posters seem to have done so much better! As you can probably tell, I'm brand new. Thanks. Link to comment
thereuare
The Omni and the Marriott are both sold-out for your dates... indicating that these dates have higher than typical demenad.Do you have a back-up reservation? If so, where and how much? What is your maximum bid?Is this the only zone you're willing to bid? susiestepper
Thanks for answering.I have made a booking at the Carlyle Suites on lastminutetravel.com in Dupont Circle for $115 plus tax - a total of $395. I did a lot of research for rates, especially for this hotel and Saint Gregory.I do want this zone and I guess my max would be $115 for 3 star and $125 for 4 star. The Carlyle is cancellable except for 24 hrs. before - so I could still bid on Savings Barn, but I think you are right and that there are conventions/conferences on at that time, and rates are up beyond my max. I'm a little anxious about increasing my bid on 3 star because I'm afraid that the good 3* are full and they would give me a crummy 3*. Like Embassy Inn, Windsor Inn or Washington Plaza (bad reviews, v. bad neighborhood). Susan Link to comment
