RuleBreaker Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 On Jan. 12, 2007 I bid on priceline the following:For stay dates of Jan. 18-21, 20074* onlyLA/Beverly Hills, West Hollywood area onlyBid $111Not AcceptedI continued the bid by adding another area that I confirmed does not offer any 4* hotels, and also raised my bid.4* onlyAdded Culver City areaBid $125Not AcceptedI continued the same bid by adding yet another area and raised my bid:4* onlyAdded Brentwood-WestwoodBid $130Not AcceptedI was hoping for the Hyatt Century Plaza for my stay. It seemed others on this board were obtaining that hotel with around $125 more or less bids. So I'm off to figure out a different hotel and perhaps another area.
RuleBreaker Posted January 12, 2007 Author Report Posted January 12, 2007 Read the post just yesterday about $60 3* Priceline bid for the Crown Plaza, LAX area. That poster's date of stay was Jan. 18, the same as the first night I need.I bid $60, only LAX area, for Jan. 18-21, 2007. Was turned down, but stated that if I bid $17 more I could bid again right away.Am tired of dealing with trying to get a good deal, especially with it being so close. So I bid $17 more, totaling $77. Was for those dates, two rooms. Got the Radisson Hotel at LAX (6225 W. Centruy Blvd.)I've stayed at this hotel before and it was alright, pretty comfy. The last time I had stayed was a bid of $55 that gave me the room for Oct. 13-15, 2005 (a Thurs and Fri night)--of course that was a Priceline bid. I ended up staying a third night and paid their desk price of $109.Self parking at that time was $12 per night. Tax at that time was a combined 14.0425%.It's probably about $10 per night too high for our bargain taste, but at least it's now a done deal and I can move onto other matters in my day.Happy searching everyone.
