Honestleeok Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 Looking to bid on a 5* hotel on the strip from wed. 3/21 to tues. 3/27. Prices for the venetian are $299 for all 6 days. Just looking for some advice on where to start bidding. Also if anyone has stayed there do they know anything about the $150 a day hold they require? Their website says they need cash or a credit card hold of $150 a day just in case. What if you book through priceline, does this still hold true? Thanks for any help. :)
thereuare Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 What is your maximum bid for a 5 star hotel? The hotel will still put a hold on your credit card to cover any incidentals (using the internet in the room, room service and/or restaurants billed to the room, etc). Honestleeok Posted January 11, 2007 Author Report Posted January 11, 2007 I was trying to stay around $200.00. The Venetian site is $299 for all 6 days.
thereuare Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 The Venetian site is $299 for all 6 days$299 is the average rate over the preriod of your stay. If you search each night individually, you will see that the rate is not a constant $299 over this period. With current rates where they are, i don't think you'll be successful at $200 or under. Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Honestleeok Posted January 12, 2007 Author Report Posted January 12, 2007 The venetian site and on the phone the price is $299. But I see through priceline the price does vary. SO probably because of this I would not get it around $200? Why do you think the bid price would be best at? I really did not want to split, do not want to have to change rooms..
thereuare Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 The venetian site ... the price is $299$299 is the average rate over the preriod of your stay. If you search each night individually, you will see that the rate is not a constant $299 over this period.Did you go to the Venetian website and search for each nite individually (as if you were only staying for the nite of 3/21, and then only staying for the nite of 3/22, and then only for the nite of 3/23, etc, etc)? Honestleeok Posted January 23, 2008 Author Report Posted January 23, 2008 Did you go to the Venetian website and search for each nite individually (as if you were only staying for the nite of 3/21, and then only staying for the nite of 3/22, and then only for the nite of 3/23, etc, etc)?In conclusion I booked Planet Hollywood directly through a mail promotion and ended up paying $800 for my entire stay for a upgraded room and strip view.
