gimme4starbaby Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 I stayed here from 1/2-1/9 at $40 a night after unsuccessful attempts at 2.5 stars in Tigard and Beaverton. Doubletree awarded once I expanded to Downtown, which was surprising that I got 3 star hotel when 2.5 star was opted :)Per recommendations of reviews, I asked to be put in the tower in a decent room (some say the rooms in an older portion of the hotel are loud and uncomfortable, poorly maintained, etc).Main complaint with Hilton is no free internet like Marriott properties. It's available in the lounge, but you have to pay $10 a night in your room. Access to Portland's free city-wide wi-fi was patchy in the room, but do-able I suppose... I ended up going to the Lloyd Center Mall or other T-Mobile HotSpots to get things done while staying here so I could work faster online.I'm trying to priceline another stay at the same price, I'll report on that as soon as I see what happens.
