fordpickup Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 I've been bidding for the past 4 days at $50/night. Is this too little for a 4* Loop on 3/30 for 2 nights? Thanks!
thereuare Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 Apparently it is :)What is your maximum bid... we'll then suggest a strategy for you to follow.Do you only want the Loop zone? Many others also bid the NMA-River North zone, which would give you additional bidding opportunities... but don't know the reason for your stay.Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly. fordpickup Posted January 8, 2007 Author Report Posted January 8, 2007 I'm going to see Wicked (Ford Center for the Performing Arts), I figured the Loop area was the closest. I could go to other areas, as long as they're around the downtown area. I would prefer a 4* in hopes of getting a hotel with a spa (treating someone to a massage.) I could probably go $100/night, but cheaper is better.
thereuare Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 Look at the priceline map and let us know if the NMA-River North zone is also acceptable or not (i think you'll find success in the Loop zone up to your limit, the only question is if you'll get something cheaper in the NMA zone). As far as a massage goes, i'd suggest looking outside of the hotel and checking out a non-hotel spa... use our affiliated site: Spa-GiftCards.com to find locations. If you often like to give Spa Treatments as a gift, the previous link should come in very handy (and makes a good Valentine's Gift for next month!)Let us know regarding the zone(s) above and we'll advise accordingly. fordpickup Posted January 8, 2007 Author Report Posted January 8, 2007 NMA seems fine to me. Thanks for the tip on spa gift cards.
thereuare Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 BTW, just noted your location under your screen name... NICE!!!At the 4* level you have one re-bid zone avaiable. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Loop...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* NMA...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* Loop and NMA...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $58If the above is rejected, there is currently a 4* in the Loop zone on HOTWIRE for $59/nite (Hyatt Regency??... wasn't there just a few hours ago when i replied to you above).Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. AaronJB Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 A little surprising that this was not accepted, as what appears to be the Hyatt (4*, Loop, Fitness/Business/hi-speed/spa/restaurant) is showing on HOTWIRE for $59 for these dates.
thereuare Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 fordpickup hasn't bid it again yet, and that low price on HOTWIRE wasn't available just a few hours ago when this thread was originally started :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
fordpickup Posted January 10, 2007 Author Report Posted January 10, 2007 Well, so far no takers for 4* Loop/NMA at $45/50/55. I will keep trying and let you all know what happens.Thereuare, are you originally from A2 or did you come for umich?
thereuare Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Well, so far no takers for 4* Loop/NMA at $45/50/55.The idea is that if you failed up to $55 then you should take the 4* loop HOTWIRE offer at $59.Please use this HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.Let us know how it goes or if there's a reason you're not taking the above.PS- i went to UM Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
