This should be classified as an airport hotel - it's directly across the street from SAN. If you are sating in real downtown and have business there, you do not need a car. With this place you DO.I am an SPG Gold. I was given a junior suite with a murphy bed - it was alright. the other rooms in that old tower (I think east) are supposedly quite small and dated.I had two more rooms booked on PL as well for the same price same dates, and I got those in the western tower - facing the ocean. Those rooms are quite nice and large, feel just a bit dated but nice.I would rate this place a solid 3*, 4** is a bit of a stretch - considering the fact that you could get the Marriott downtown for the same price in the same zone.
