JayC62 Posted November 29, 2006 Author Report Posted November 29, 2006 This is a great price for the Sheraton if that is the hotel. We are looking to stay in the Times Sq area primarily, but would also stay in Midotwn Central or Central Park South and would prefer a four star hotel.Based on the fact that some hotel direct sites arent too expensive we would be willing to bid up to $175Any thoughts for a priceline bid for a 4 star in those areas? How low could we go so to speak? Thanks
thereuare Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 The above zones are from HOTWIRE, what are the priceline zones you are willing to bid?I'm not a big fan of the Sheraton Manhattan, but if you are, i certainly wouldn't be willing to pay nearly twice as much for a 4* hotel over the HOTWIRE price for a 3*. JayC62 Posted November 29, 2006 Author Report Posted November 29, 2006 priceline zones would be Midtown West and Upper midtown- CPS. midtown east only as a last resort. Thanks
thereuare Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 I suspect that MTE may be your least expensive zone. You may be able to get something in the other areas too within your budget, but are you willing to go up to your maximum before trying the MTE area? (if MTE would be less expensive)Is there a reason you want to avoid the MTE zone? For most, it's perfectly acceptable, centrally located, and transportation is usually pretty good too. JayC62 Posted November 29, 2006 Author Report Posted November 29, 2006 I did win the Barclay once on priceline and it was fine, but am nervous of getting the W New york or the Grand Hyatt. After considering it, I probably would not bid Midtown East unless I couldn't get anything in the other areas less than my max.
thereuare Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 You have two re-bid zones when bidding 4* in NYC. JayC62 Posted December 28, 2006 Author Report Posted December 28, 2006 Thanks for your help. I bid exactly as you said and got the New York Hilton for $110 on the first bid. Should I post this under the priceline list? Thanks for the advice
